Located 20 minutes from Maggie Valley NC, this converted gristmill and farmhouse have a panoramic view of the mountains and farm lands in this scenic valley just down the mountain from the Appalachian Trail. This pastoral valley is only minutes to all of the mountain attractions and activities that lure visitors to the Great Smoky Mountains - yet away from all the tourist crowds! Just 7 miles from Exit 15 off Interstate 40 to your mountain retreat. The Gristmill House was converted from a gristmill that served the local Fines Creek community in the early 1900's. The building is constructed of Wormy Chestnut wood inside and out; the mill stone was driven by a gasoline engine. The open style of our guesthouse is approximately 500 square feet and consists of a full country kitchen, modern bathroom, a queen bed with linen, full family room with a sleeper sofa, and a cozy wood burning stove.
